EMCC announces 2020 and 2021 Sports Hall of Fame classes
East Mississippi Community College will induct 10 new members into the EMCC Sports Hall of Fame on Thursday, Sept. 23, when the Lions entertain the Holmes Bulldogs at Sullivan-Windham Field on the Scooba campus.
SCOOBA – East Mississippi Community College will induct 10 new members into the EMCC Sports Hall of Fame on Thursday, Sept. 23, when the Lions entertain the Holmes Bulldogs at Sullivan-Windham Field on the Scooba campus.
Five new members from EMCC's 2020 class and an additional five inductees from the 2021 class will be recognized at halftime of the EMCC-Holmes football game. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Sept. 23.
The five-member Class of 2020 features: 2010 EMCC All-American and retired NFL defensive lineman Quinton Dial; current EMCC Dean of Students/Scooba campus Tony Montgomery (former Lions baseball player and coach); brothers Ike Clay (men's basketball) and Ronald Clay (baseball); and former quarterback Greg Griffith.
EMCC's five-member Class of 2021 includes: former EMCC women's basketball players Martika Hull (Southeast Lauderdale HS alum), Angelique Burtts, and Yvonne [Davis] Hairston (current Columbus High School WBB coach & former MSU track athlete); along with former Lions baseball players Brad Montgomery (younger brother of fellow EMCC SHOF inductee/New Hope HS alum Tony Montgomery) and Alan Page (owner of Page Place at Dodson Farm in Starkville).
