EMCC’s Isaiah Wright named to College Football America 2016 Yearbook Juco Starting Lineup
East Mississippi Community College sophomore wide receiver/running back Isaiah Wright has been named to the College Football America 2016 Yearbook Juco Starting Lineup. The CFA’s preseason junior college football All-America team was announced this week.

Wright, from Florence, rushed for 483 yards and seven touchdowns on 69 carries a year ago for the MACJC North Division Champion EMCC Lions. The 6-foot, 190-pound athlete also had 16 receptions for 252 yards and four touchdowns last season to rank as the team's second-leading scorer with 72 points on the year. Wright also had a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown during the Lions' 69-20 season-opening home win over Southwest Mississippi as a freshman.
The brother of current Indiana University redshirt junior running back and former EMCC Lion Camion Patrick, Wright was previously named 2014 Class 4A All-State Second Team as a senior quarterback for Florence High School after being credited with 2,123 rushing yards and 31 touchdowns on the ground. In addition to throwing for 945 yards and nine touchdowns as a prep senior, Wright also had a touchdown reception, two kick returns for scores and a two-point conversion to amass 206 total points scored in 2014.
Tabbed as this year's preseason No. 1 junior college football team in the JCGridiron.com Dirty 30 Rankings, ninth-year head football coach Buddy Stephens' EMCC Lions will kick off the upcoming campaign with consecutive road games against MACJC South Division foes Jones County (Sept. 1) and Mississippi Gulf Coast (Sept. 8). With their 2016 home opener set for Sept. 15 against Northeast Mississippi, the Lions are also preseason ranked fourth nationally in the Sporting News 2016 College Football Preview.
A total of six players from the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) are included in the College Football America 2016 Yearbook Juco Starting Lineup, which is comprised of 26 players from schools competing in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) as well as the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA).
The College Football America 2016 Yearbook features more than 930 college football teams from the United States and Canada, including every team from the NCAA (FBS, FCS, Division II and Division III), NAIA, NJCAA, CCCAA and Canada Interuniversity Sport (CIS).
