Micah Walker and Dajah McCarty to represent East Mississippi CC in MACJC All-Star Basketball Games
Sophomores Micah Walker and Dajah McCarty will conclude their East Mississippi Community College playing careers by participating in Thursday’s MACJC All-Star Basketball Games in Decatur. Hosted by East Central Community College, the perennial all-star games will be played in ECCC’s Brackeen-Wood Physical Education Building.
SCOOBA – Sophomores Micah Walker and Dajah McCarty will conclude their East Mississippi Community College playing careers by participating in Thursday's MACJC All-Star Basketball Games in Decatur. Hosted by East Central Community College, the perennial all-star games will be played in ECCC's Brackeen-Wood Physical Education Building.
With admission set for $5 per person, women's action is slated for a 6 p.m. tip-off and followed by an 8 p.m. men's contest. Both games are scheduled to be video-streamed live on http://www.ihigh.com/holmesathletics/ with Holmes Community College Sports Information Director Steve Diffey on the call.
Walker, a 6-foot-5, 185-pound forward, ranked as EMCC's third-leading scorer (10.4 ppg) and No. 4 rebounder (3.9 rpg) in helping lead head coach Mark White's 20-8 Lions to a fourth straight NJCAA Tournament appearance and fourth consecutive NJCAA Region 23 Tournament title. The Jonesboro, Ark., native shot 37 percent from the field and 71 percent from the line along with ranking third on the team with 42 made 3-pointers this past season.
McCarty, a product of Quitman High School, started all 46 games for Lady Lion head coach Sharon Thompson during her two-year EMCC playing career. The 5-foot-10 forward averaged 5.9 points per game this past year and ranked as the team's second-leading rebounder at 6.3 boards an outing. She led EMCC with 61 offensive rebounds on the year.

Coached by Richard Mathis of Pearl River, the men's South Division All-Stars include: Jay Case and Joe Cunningham (Copiah-Lincoln); Aquill Baynard (East Central); Dominique Brown and Marcus Hurn (Hinds); J.J. Bolton and Donta Pittman (Jones County); JaMichael Hawkins and Darius Forest (Mississippi Gulf Coast); Frank Snow and Xavian Rimmer (Pearl River); and Donovan Ross (Southwest Mississippi).
