The East Mississippi Community College softball team broke into the win column with a run-rule home doubleheader sweep over Coahoma Community College during Tuesday’s MACJC action played at the EMCC Softball Field.  Following an 11-0 shutout victory in the opening game, the Lady Lions completed the conference sweep with a 15-6 nightcap triumph over the Lady Tigers.

The East Mississippi Community College softball team opened MACJC conference play by battling 10th-ranked Copiah-Lincoln to the final out of Friday’s opening game before falling, 3-2 and 13-4, in doubleheader road action.

With persistent rain and wet field conditions having played havoc with their pre-conference softball slate, the Lady Lions of East Mississippi Community College are slated to begin the MACJC conference portion of their softball spring schedule by heading to Wesson to take on the Copiah-Lincoln Lady Wolves in a Friday (March 8) doubleheader set to begin at 1 p.m.
