East Mississippi Community College running back Gavin Griffin has been named the MACCC North Division’s Offensive Player of the Year to highlight the Lions’ 13 selections to the 2025 All-MACCC football teams. Chosen by a panel of the MACCC’s head football coaches, the conference’s first-team, second-team and honorable mention football selections from the league’s North and South Divisions were announced Wednesday by the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference office.
Looking to return to the postseason playoff picture, the Lions of East Mississippi Community College will kick off the 2025 football season Thursday (Aug. 28) by taking on the preseason 10th-ranked Mississippi Gulf Coast Bulldogs in Perkinston. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at A.L. May Memorial Stadium.
